The Federal Indian Boarding School Initiative reported 408 gov’t schools in 37 states (not including church-led schools). Burial sites were identified at 53 schools in the gov’t system. The number of burial sites is expected to increase as the investigation continues. #ICSEagles

Why orange? Phyllis Webstad is a survivor of St. Joseph’s Mission School. On her first day, at age 6, they took away the new orange shirt from her grandma. This experience echoed hundreds of thousands whose traditional ways and languages were erased by these schools. #ICSEagles
