ICS middle school students utilized their electives class in Makerspace to build a prosthetic leg that they could walk on. For people with limb loss, prosthetic devices improve quality of life by providing movement and independence. Our Makerspace is a place that provides hands-on, creative ways for students to design, experiment, and invent as they engage with a variety of tools and technology. Makerspaces are multidisciplinary in both approaches and in the products created, which fuels engagement and innovation. We hope you like the photos of our future-ready innovators and leaders! Pįįxjį / Wēskewat / Onizhishin / Yoyánehle / that's great students! #ICS

ICS students enjoyed Indigenous Peoples Day on land and water today at school! We want to show our gratitude to our cultural guests who helped our students learn our traditional games today: Brad Granquist and Quincy Granquist from the Oneida Nation ran the lacrosse games, and Shena Munden from the Ho-Chunk Nation ran the double ball games. We also want to express our gratitude to Mr. Dropik for making canoe rides possible for many of our students to enjoy today. Pįįxjį / Wēskewat / Onizhishin / Yoyánehle / That's Great for all of them and for all of our teachers and staff who supported our students today! We also had a visit from Lt. Governor Sara Rodriguez, who enjoyed hearing our 8th-grade students sing the Thanksgiving Song in their Oneida language while sitting in their math classroom! The Lt. Governor also watched our younger students play Indigenous games, and she enjoyed a tour of our beautiful school! It truly was an amazing 2023 Indigenous Peoples Day celebration! #ICSEagles
