Isabel St. Arnold
Our Ways Assistant

Boozhoo! My Anishinaabe name is Onaagoshi Anang Kwe (Evening Star Woman) and my clan is ma’iingan (wolf). I am Ojibwe from the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community in the upper peninsula of Michigan and this year I will be the Ojibwe Language and Culture Apprentice at ICS.

I recently graduated with my bachelors from Northwestern University in Illinois where I studied Social Policy and Native American and Indigenous Studies. While at Northwestern I was president of our Native American and Indigenous Students Alliance and also helped to plan our very first student-run pow wow. At this pow wow, the ICS Eagle Singers were the host drum.

As an alumnus of ICS, I am looking forward to coming back to ICS to continue to learn Anishinaabemowin and my Ojibwe culture while also working with the students here. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, walking by the lake, camping, and beading.
