Carrie Galindo
K-8 Interventionist

Hello!

My name is Carrie Galindo. I am excited to be embarking on a new journey here at Indian Community School. With nine years of experience as a special education teacher, I have a strong passion to educate young minds and help them blossom into well rounded, responsible, and successful individuals.

Throughout the course of my career, I have had opportunities to teach diverse groups of students, including those with learning, intellectual, and emotional behavioral disabilities, those who perform at grade level, and those who were gifted exceptional. These experiences helped enhance my knowledge, creativity, leadership, teamwork, behavior management, and time-management skills. I have experience teaching in Title I Math, Project Based Learning, Montessori, and a Traditional school setting as a general and special education teacher. I also hold a Director of Pupil and Student Services License and am a Volleyball Coach.

As an Interventionist at ICS, I will continue to embrace my educational philosophy of providing students, families, and educators with access to academic, social, and cultural resources essential to meet learning objectives and drive student progress. It is my professional goal to help students reach academic and career achievements, while celebrating the experiences and unique strengths that each student brings.

My husband Richie and I love to travel. We enjoy preparing meals from scratch and feeding good food to friends and family. In September 2023 we will be welcoming our third grandchild.
