Ho-Chunk Language & Culture

HaHo! / Haa! Hellow!

The Ho-Chunk Language and Culture program is one of four language programs taught at ICS. Each family chooses the language they would like their child(ren) to learn, and lessons begin in K4 and continue through 8th grade. Our Ho-Chunk Language and Culture teachers are:

George Greendeer
Teacher

Curtis Prescott
Apprentice

Our students receive Ho-Chunk language and culture lessons four days each week and apply what they are learning throughout their school day.

We're sharing an educational documentary that was co-produced by the Native American Student Association - West High School Madison and the Ho-Chunk Nation Language Division. The video is entitle, "Living the Ho-Chunk Language The People of the Big Voice."
