Jordan Marvin
Director of Human Resources

Boozhoo!

My name is Jordan Marvin and I recently joined the ICS community. I proudly belong to the Mole Lake Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, and my life journey has taken me on quite an adventure so far.

Back in 2013, I graduated from UW-Oshkosh with a degree in Psychology. Fast forward to 2023, and I earned my Masters Degree in Human Resources Management from Webster University.

My journey hasn't been confined to the classroom though – I've had the privilege of serving in the United States Army for 9 incredible years. Those years took me to far corners of the globe, including numerous states across the U.S, multiple locations around Europe, and other locations as assigned. But I realized something profoundly important during that time – nothing compares to my family, friends, and community back home. That's why I decided to return to Wisconsin and embrace the most important things in life.

As much as I love traveling, I find my true north with my family. They're the core of everything I do, and that's one of the reasons why being at the Indian Community School is such a gift. Every day, I get to learn more about Anishinaabe culture, drawing me closer to my roots, and serving the amazing people in this Community.

Outside of work, hunting and fishing are my passions – I feel at home when I’m outdoors. And of course, I can't forget to mention my love for sports. I am a huge advocate for Wrestling! This is the sport I grew up with and learned so many life lessons from. Wrestling has taught me so much and will be forever a part of my life (cauliflower ear). I am also a huge Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan.

So, there you have it – a snapshot of who I am. A proud member of the Sokaogon Chippewa Community, an adventurer who's trekked across continents, a family person at heart, and someone who's always up for a good game or a day by the water. Life is an incredible journey, and I'm here to make the most of every moment.
