Community Words

ICS Community Words and Free Language App

To support our students’ language learning and to help our community learn our languages along with us, we’ve developed a program called “Community Words." This program covers common words and phrases in the four languages we teach at our school:  Ho-Chunk, Menominee, Ojibwe, and Oneida.

We also developed a handout that you can download and print. In addition, we have a FREE Language App that you can download to your phone or computer.

You are welcome to share this information and to use it in your materials. However, if you use our information, please cite Indian Community School as a source.

How to Download our Free Language App

You can DOWNLOAD THIS FREE APP to hear the Community Words pronounced and to see how they are spelled. We encourage all to learn these helpful words and phrases and use them when you greet one another and especially when you see our students!

We also included a LINK to instructions for downloading to smartphones and computers (as seen below).
